Switchfoot es un estadounidense de rock alternativo banda de San Diego , California. Los miembros de la banda son Jon Foreman ( voz principal , guitarra ), Tim Capataz ( guitarra bajo , coros ), Chad mayordomo ( tambores , percusión ), Jerome Fontamillas (guitarra, teclados , coros), y de Drew Shirley (guitarra, coros ). Después de los primeros éxitos del rock cristiano escena, Switchfoot primero ganó el reconocimiento general con la inclusión de cuatro de sus canciones en el 2002 de la película A Walk to Remember . Este reconocimiento llevó a su debut discográfico, The Beautiful Letdown , que fue lanzado en 2003 y contó con los éxitos " Meant to Live "y" Dare You to Move ". Se llegó a vender más de 2,6 millones de copias. Desde entonces han sido destacado por sus energéticas presentaciones en vivo, y su séptimo álbum de estudio Hello Hurricane recibió un Grammy premio en 2011 por Mejor Rock o Rap Gospel Album.

Según Jon Foreman, el nombre de "Switchfoot" proviene de un término surf . "A todos nos gusta el surf y hemos estado navegando todas nuestras vidas para que nosotros, el nombre tenía sentido. Para cambiar los pies significa tomar una nueva postura frente a la dirección opuesta. Se trata de cambio y movimiento, una forma diferente de acercarse a la vida y música "
